Interview ~ Vidoll: February 1, 2008
Jui and Rame

Before their upcoming appearance at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida, Jui and Rame from Vidoll took the time to answer a few questions via email.
Be sure to catch Jui and Rame at MegaCon March 7-9! For more info, go to JHouse Rock and MegaCon.
Hello! For those who may not be familiar with Vidoll, could you please introduce yourselves and what part you play?
Jui:I am Jui. I am the vocalist.
Rame: I am Rame. I am the bassist.
Okay, so Jui and Rame will be making a special appearance at MegaCon in Orlando, Florida in March. This will be your first US appearance since JRock Revolution last May. When you look back on that time, what specific memories come to mind?
Jui: It was the first time visiting the US, but I was very happy that there were fans who knew our songs.
Rame: Everything was all good memories.
Is this your first time attending this kind of convention?
Jui & Rame: Yes, this is the first time attending such a convention.
What are your feelings about the upcoming convention? Are you looking forward to doing anything while you're here?
Jui: If there is enough time, I would love to go to Disney World.
Rame: I am very excited about going to Orlando. I want to enjoy the town and I would like to meet with a lot of people and experience the culture.
Since coming to the USA for JRock Revolution, is there anything you miss about the USA?
Jui: I miss the fans who are waiting for us.
Rame: I miss the cheers from the American audience.
What about your performance at JRock Revolution last year, what sort of impact did that have on you?
Jui: I realized that even if the languages are different, our feelings can be conveyed to the audience.
Rame: It was very impressive and shocking to me.
Have other places you've traveled (outside of Japan) influenced your music? Can you give us an example?
Jui: I have traveled to France before, and the streets and sceneries there more or less have some influences on our music.
Rame: I have only been to Los Angeles.
Since you have played in both the USA and Japan, can you tell us about any differences between American and Japanese audiences? Do you like one more than another?
Jui: This is my personal impression, but in Japan the audience enjoys the melodies, whereas in America the audience enjoys the rhythms.
Rame: The tension of the audience seems different. I have these images: In America they are HOT! In Japan they are WARM!
One form of fan appreciation is cosplay. There were fans cosplaying as Vidoll members at Jrock Revolution, and there may be cosplayers at Megacon as well. What do you think of cosplaying?
Jui: I am very delighted to see the cosplay fans. I feel that they are looking at me very well. This is one of the pop-cultures that I would like to have spread in the world.
Rame: I feel glad about it as well.
Do you have any tips for fans cosplaying as you?
Jui: Be sexy!!
Rame: I would like them to dress as they are because that is their own personalities, rather than making themselves look like me or not.
MUCC and DéspairsRay, who also played at JRock Revolution last year, are doing a US tour soon, as part of the Rockstar Taste of Chaos. Do you think Vidoll would ever take part in something similar?
Jui: If there are such opportunities, I would like to participate in those kind of events.
Rame: We do not have any plans for this visit.
Would you ever do a US tour on your own, even if there were only stops in a few cities?
Jui: I have been hoping that we have our own live concerts in the US, so I would like to go even if we will only visit a few cities, as long as people are waiting for us.
Rame: I would love to have concerts in the US.
Do you have any particular goals for this year?
Jui: I would like to be bigger and more famous.
Rame: I would like to become a nicer and more mature man.
And finally, do you have a message for your American fans?
Jui: We will bring the best Vidoll to you; please love us! I would love to master English some day and do MC myself.
Rame: I love American music and people. I would like to do more activities in foreign countries as well.
