Rockstar Taste of Chaos

fly on the wall

There's more to bands than just their music and stage presence, but not everyone gets a chance to see the other aspects of them. Here's a quick look at the JRock bands on the 2008 Rockstar Taste of Chaos tour, before their performances in Chicago, IL.

So what is it like, "backstage" ?

For the Rockstar Taste of Chaos in Chicago at the Aragon, it was very relaxed. The atmosphere there was something almost unexpected. For the members of D'espairsRay, MUCC, and the Underneath, it was probably nothing particularly special. They were just a bunch of guys hanging out. But for an outsider looking in, even if it was normal, it's still something more interesting than a usual, every day experience.

Everyone in the band room looked very at home. It was obvious that they were having fun: from Tatsurou pulling Karyu from a couch by his feet, to Hizumi leisurely playing his PSP, and the members of the Underneath goofing off on the other side of the room. There were smiles and laugher, just a bunch of friends spending time together. Nevermind the fact that there were hundreds of fans outside waiting for them, that wasn't unusual at all. And as for the performances they were about to do? I wonder if they were even thinking about it that much.

"Just be a fly on the wall," I was told. So I did just that. It wasn't as exciting as some people might think, but it's not every day you get to look at a band differently, and see them as...just people.
